Teachers of English
language, for a long time, have been trying to improve the quality of English
classes. However, two classes per week are very little to work the four skills,
specially writing.
In class, the teacher has
to administer many differences. Nowadays, teachers are not only teachers are
educators. They have to teach discipline and moral values that before were role
of the family. So, two classes per week are not enough to teach everything that
is necessary to really learn a second language.
When teachers are able to
teach the students the importance of learning English, there is the difficulty
of the large number of students in the classroom. Teach writing is the most
difficult task in public schools because teachers have to make a review with
the students about everything they’ve learned before and, the students usually
can’t remember or don’t care about English classes.
On the other hand, they can
try to work the four English skills at least, on basic level. Help and guide
students to understand the importance of the language, show them some simple
texts and dialogues and try to motivate them to read, talk and speak, just a
little, everything they’ve learned. After that, they should try work writing.
Starting with short paragraphs and themes that they are comfortable about. But, it is always a very difficult job!
